Prewriting a Pen Pal Letter for 2nd Graders

Begins to use appropriate formatting conventions for letter writing (e.g., date, salutation, body, closing). PLO: The student will fill out a graphic organizer to start planning a pen pal letter.

  3. How to Prewrite Form of Writing: A pen pal letter is written to a person who is located in an area different from yours. Ex: different states, countries, or continents Stage of writing: During prewriting you will determine what you want to say in the letter, and a topic or two to discuss. You will also fill out the graphic organizer.
