  1. Importance of Art, Craft and Design Art and crafts education is important to our culture and society as a whole, and the reasons behind that are meaningful and complex. Art and design as a subject are not taken seriously as an entitlement for children and young people in formal education. Images of small children engaged in primary colours and young people meaningfully engaged in front of a well-known painting spring to mind. These assumed images are now under threat, and in a lot of schools and settings the paints, kilns and cameras are now actively abandoned. What is happening to our subject, our teachers and our creativity, culture and economic success is the issue this article will explain. Opening doors of opportunity Within the formal education system, the subject supports social, moral, personal, cultural and creative development, and help the participants to explore visual, and other sensory experiences and how to recognize and communicate ideas and meanings. These opportunities help them to work with traditional as well as new media so that they develop confidence, imagination and creativity. Through these opportunities, they learn to value images and artefacts across times and cultures, and to understand the context in which they were made. Experiences in art, craft and design help them to understand how to reflect critically on their own and others' work. They learn to think and act as artists, maker and designers, working creatively and intelligently. They develop engagement in art, craft and design as critical consumers and audiences and develop an understanding of its role in the creative as well as the cultural industries that shape and enrich their lives.

  2. Art, craft and design introduce participants to a range of intellectual and practical skills. It enables learners to use and understand the properties of a wide range of tools, machines, and systems. It provides children, young people and lifelong learners with opportunities to think imaginatively and develop confidence in other subjects and life skills. It has a critical role at the centre of science, technology, and mathematics; fosters creativity, innovation, and economic growth. Art, craft and design support other subjects, industries and sectors. It provides an introduction to potential career options in the visual arts and creative, heritage, cultural and digital and design media industries. Many young people study art craft and design. It is mainly related with making crucial judgements based on a good knowledge of a variety of judgements about cultural values, history, aesthetics for purpose, and provides an opportunity for engagement in leisure pursuits that can yield lifelong benefits in health, well‑being and life satisfaction. It enriches children and young people's experience of school and college life. Most children and young people find it motivating, helping to develop positive attitudes to school and life beyond formal education.
