Glucose-Galactose Influence on HIV-2 Protease Activity: A Kinetic Study

This study investigates the effect of glucose and galactose on the activity of HIV-2 protease (PR) using a kinetic analysis. We performed experiments at varying time intervals and measured absorbance at 600 nm to evaluate the activity of PR in the presence of different sugar concentrations. The proteins' molecular weights and any mutations (e.g., D25A) were also examined. Our findings highlight important interactions between carbohydrates and HIV-2 protease, contributing to the understanding of viral enzyme regulation and potential therapeutic targets.
