  2. Early Defeats for Ravana • Ravana, who has seen destruction throughout his entire life, cannot stand watching his army get slaughtered by Rama’s Army. So with the blessings of Shiva, he set off to the battlefield covered in armor.

  3. A Key Factor for Rama • The gods, seeing Rama send down Matali and Indra’s, Lord of Rain and Thunder, most special chariot. This chariot will make Rama more mobile than on foot.

  4. The Real Battle Starts • Once Rama destroys Ravana’s army, Ravana sounds his conch to issue a challenge to Rama one on one. Matali sounds his conch as well thus accepting the challenge for Rama.

  5. The Battle • The Battle starts off as a battle of the arrows. Rama being impervious to arrows protects him and Ravanas excellent archery cancels out Rama’s arrows as well. This battle was being done in the sky.

  6. Rama Struggles • Ravana uses a special weapon known as Maya which causes illusions. This weapon was used to have all of Ravana’s dead army come back alive. This confuses Rama and toys with his judgement. Also Ravana shoots a Trident at Rama which almost kills him.

  7. The Final Blow • With all other methods of destroying Ravana failing, Rama using the Brahmasthra. With this weapon and Rama’s prayers, he launches the weapon into Ravana’s heart and kills him.

  8. Conclusion • With Rama defeating Ravana, Rama notices a scar on Ravana’s back. He then feels gulity because Ravana might have been trying to escape and Rama still killed him with the Brahmasthra.
