Overview of the Legislative Process in Parliament: From Bill Proposal to Royal Assent

This document outlines the key stages of the legislative process in Parliament, starting from the First Reading of a Bill by a member of parliament in the lower house. It progresses through the Second Reading, where it is debated and sent to the upper house for further consideration. After both houses vote and pass the Bill through multiple readings, it is presented to the Governor for Royal Assent. Upon receiving the assent, the Bill becomes law. This process ensures thorough examination and discussion of proposed legislation.
