Based on The Atkins Diet, a book written by Dr. Robert C Atkins, it has created a health phenomenon through out the diet world. He says in his book that we should be concerning more on the carbohydrates we take, not the fat. The diet has been proven successful but not all of them. To make sure you are safe when practicing a diet you should first consult your doctor to make sure the program went well for you. In Atkins diet, you should never consume junk and processed foods also calorie counting will be less. The important key in Atkins diet is to eat a lot of protein and fewer carbohydrates. By reducing the intake of carbohydrates the body will change to a stage where it is called ketosis. In ketosis stage, fats in the body will be burn down to ensure flow of energy in the body, then the body will stop producing insulin, and lastly the fat storage will come to halt. In an Atkins diet it includes four stages which are induction, ongoing weight loss, pre-maintenance, and lastly maintenance itself. Of course for the first stage is induction. Induction happens in the period of the first two weeks. In the induction stage, some lose 15 pounds due to less carbohydrate intake as little as 20 grams per day. The only thing that you can have when you are in the Atkins diet is low-carbohydrate vegetables, but they are also in a very limited consummation. In the ongoing weigh loss stage, 25 grams of carbohydrates intake are recommended each day. After that to the pre-maintenance stage you can add other variety of foods that is suitable for the diet. Lastly, the maintenance stage is when you have reach the goals for your weight loss program, that is when you can eat those carbohydrates but you wouldn't want to do that. Healthy carbohydrates will follow you all the way. Unlike the Atkins methods, other methods suggest the dieter to exercise in order to lose fat. Quit smoking also contribute to the healthy lifestyle you chose to live in. Atkins diet has been flooded with questioned of its safety of practice since it uses severe ways to lose some inches away. But there are some opinions claim that when you reach the maintenance level your weight will come back to the way it was.
