This PowerPoint presentation can be used in part for a whole group demonstration or it can be used as an independent student learning center activity in class or at home. The left digit is the tens' place which is 8 in this example.  It tells you that there are 8 tens. The right digit is the ones’ place. It tells you there are 4 ones.
