This PowerPoint presentation can be used in part for a whole group demonstration or it can be used as an independent student learning center activity in class or at home.   6. Place Value- Two Digit Numbers Numbers, such as 84, have two digits.  Each digit is a different place value. The left digit is the tens' place which is 8 in this example.  It tells you that there are 8 tens. The right digit is the ones’ place. It tells you there are 4 ones.   7. Place Value- Three Digit Numbers Numbers, such as 284, have three digits.  Each digit is a different place value. The left digit is the hundreds' place.  It tells you that there are 2 hundreds. The center digit is the tens' place which is 8 in this example.  It tells you that there are 8 tens. The right digit is the ones’ place. It tells you there are 4 ones.
