  3. Produce Market Report Week of October 2, 2006 Good Produce Values FRUITS VEGETABLES Apples Oranges Broccoli Onions - All Grapes - Red Pears Lettuce – Leaf & Iceberg Romaine Honeydews Squash – Yellow Cauliflower High Priced Produce FRUITS VEGETABLES Raspberries Blueberries Asparagus Tomatoes - All Blackberries Corn Peppers - All Produce Alert STRAWBERRIES - High quality new crop strawberry shipments, harvested from Central Florida growers are now currently available in moderate supply. Look for berry quality and size to improve dramatically as Florida growers continue to replenish inventory in the coming weeks. The strawberry market has already shown signs of improvements and is anticipated to stabilize in the mid-to-late January. LETTUCE – Iceberg, Leaf and Romaine are starting to show signs of quality issues due to some frost conditions experienced earlier. Expect to see some occasional outer leaf damage due to the frost. Prices and supplies remain stable for this time of the year. TOMATOES - Supplies continue to be very light causing prices to go up again this week on all tomato products. Expect quality and color to be below average. We will closely monitor tomato products to insure we have the best available product for shipping each day. BELL PEPPERS (Green) – The Pepper market is to remain steady for the next couple of weeks. By the second week of January we should see some (new crop) Peppers which were re-planted after the Hurricane. These peppers will bring on additional volume which should help ease the market. The new crop of peppers will have better quality and better size.

  7. Local farms that supply to Paragon Monteverde

  8. Dairy The following dairy distributors are approved to deliver milk From your local farms. ALL of these dairies meet or exceed Grade A Regulatory Standards. • Turner Dairy – Penn Hills, PA • Harrisburg Dairies – Harrisburg, PA • Smith’s Dairy – Orrville, OH • Galliker’s Dairy – Johnstown, PA • WaWa – WaWa, PA • Schneider Valley Dairy Farms – Williamsport, PA • Ritchey’s Dairy – Martinsburg, PA • Guers Dairy – Pottsville, PA • Byrnes Dairy – Syracuse, NY

  9. All dairies must furnish a list of the farms they currently utilize, as well as the number of cows in each herd. Below are the dairy standards we require for all fluid milk suppliers to Eat'n Park Hospitality Group. *Eat’n Park Hospitality Group wishes to preserve the credibility of a natural milk supply. Dairies that are rBGH Free • Harrisburg Dairies • Ritchey’s Dairy • Guers Dairy • Schneider Valley Dairy Farms • Byrnes Dairy What is rBGH? Recombinant Bovine Growth Hormone, sometimes referred as BGH, rBGH, BST or rBST, is a genetically engineered copy of a naturally occurring hormone produced by cows. The naturally occurring hormone regulates the amount of milk a cow can produce; the genetically engineered copy of the hormone is used specifically to boost those amounts, in turn producing more milk. Eat'n Park Hospitality Group believes this hormone even if it isn’t harmful suspect it detracts from the purity of milk and may cause health problems in dairy producing cows. The FDA has said no significant difference has been shown and no test can distinguish between milk from rBGH treated and untreated cows.

  10. Turner Dairy Farms, Inc. 1049 Jefferson Road Penn Hills, PA 15235 412.372.2211 Turner Dairy Farms, located in Penn Hills, is a family owned company that was founded in 1930 by Charles G. Turner. Maintaining a vision of "Perfect products, perfect service, and treating people right," Turner Dairy continues to stand out in this industry because of the Higher Standards we uphold. Turner's milk exceeds Grade A quality requirements, and with a full time staff of 150, our customers are treated right.

  11. Local Farms that supply Turner Dairy

  12. Meat • Pork • Hatfield Quality Meats - Hatfield, PA • Wil-Den Family Farms – Jackson Center, PA • Chicken • We continue to work on sourcing local poultry, but have not been successful in securing a cost effective program. • Beef • We are currently working with the Pennsylvania Cattleman’s Association (PCA) and they report there are about 12,000 different owners of beef cattle in Pennsylvania (over 1 million head of cattle are harvested annually). • Since, Pennsylvania has a high population of beef cattle; we are working with PCA on establishing a brand of Pennsylvania beef. Essentially, this will be beef that is raised and slaughtered in Pennsylvania. This branding program will cut down on the amount of product that shipped to the west to be slaughter and hopefully providing a higher premium for those farmers that are producing this product

  13. Manufacturers We will make a conscious effort to partner with manufacturers that use 60% of raw product that are grown and harvested within the northeastern region of the United States or at least 75% of the final manufacturing process and packaging is done in this area. • Musselmann’s - Peach Glen, PA • Parma Sausage – Pittsburgh, PA • Reinhold Ice Cream - Pittsburgh, PA • Hershey’s Ice Cream – Harrisburg, PA • Hope’s Cookies – Bryn Mawr, PA • Sweet Street Desserts – Reading, PA • Pellman Foods Inc. – New Holland, PA
