Postdoc & Pre-eminence • Pre-eminence benchmark = at least 200 postdocs • NSF/NIH Survey of Graduate Students and Postdoctorates in Science and Engineering (GSS) • Phase 1 – Program contacts verified • Degree granting units (students and postdocs) • Research units that support postdocs • Phase 2 – Units complete online survey • Graduate student information • Postdoc information

Postdocs • Include a person who meets FSU’s definition of a postdoc and who was employed for all or part of the Fall semester 2014 • August 8, 2014 – December 22, 2014 • Ph.D. or equivalent doctorate (e.g., Sc.D., M.D.) in an appropriate field within 5 years prior to initial appointment. • Temporary traineeship with substantial mentored training in a field relevant to the trainee’s career path, including research, scholarship, or teaching.
