  2. Product • Our product will be a local newspaper company • We will be transporting the newspaper by a way that uses fossil fuels and a way that doesn’t • Non Fossil Fuel: A bike with a box on the back • Fossil Fuel:2009 Smart Fortwo

The Bike • We chose a bike because it doesn’t use fossil fuels • It will be easy to transport the newspaper because of the box • Bikes are smaller and easier to store • Using a bicycle to commute four days a week for four milessaves 54 gallons of gas annually. • The energy and resources needed to build one medium-sizedcarcouldproduce100bicycles. • Buying bikes to transport instead of cars will save thousands of dollars

  4. 2009 Smart Fortwo • The smart fortwo is about half the length of the average vehicle in the U.S., saving about 8 feet in length. • The smart fortwo is the most fuel efficient non-hybrid vehicle in the U.S. and the 3rd most fuel-efficient vehicle in the U.S. • 2009 EPA estimated MPG rating of 33 city / 41 highway • If every vehicle sold in the US was a smart, this would free up 24,242 miles of roadway • the smart fortwo is up to 95% recyclable • is certified as a SmartWay vehicle for its low air pollutant and greenhouse gas scores by the Environmental Protection Agency • Does not use any climate changing fossil fuels

For the Boss • Daimler Chrysler 2009 Flex Fuel E85 • E85 is a blend of 85% ethanol and 15% gasoline • E85 is 10% cheaper than regular gas • E85 has the highest oxygen content of any transportation fuel available today, making it burn cleaner than gas • Fewer exhaust emissions • E85 reduces greenhouse gases • Less smog • Ethanol is non toxic
