  1. Graduate Packaging Designer Salary - £18,000 - £25,000 As a Packaging Designer you will be working within the Design department, reporting to the Design Manager.Design & sampling:-* Accepting and interpreting customer briefs from various sources. * Liaising closely with sales, production and directly with customers via telephone or meetings (involving travel when necessary).* To work alongside production and 'out of house' companies (including forme makers) to achieve suitable, practical & cost-efficient solutions to solve problems.* Providing technical drawings / sheet sizes for costing - utilising paper sizes and calculating print cylinder sizes.* Producing structural and graphical samples / mock-ups for customer perusal and approval.* Overseeing jobs during specific manufacturing procedures and signing-off first production samples against the customer approved sample.* Sending of sample materials - sheets & swatches, company specifies / specification sheets & production samples / sample 'kits' - all these are arranged, packaged and sent through Design.* Send cutter guides / templates via email for customer design requirements.Print:-* Liaising with customers regarding artwork specifications and design / print issues - giving advice where necessary.* Sending the layouts, job information and 'print to plate' diagrams as necessary in order to process the job to the printers / plate-makers.Forme-makers:-* Ordering of cutting formes. * Passing paperwork through Design.* Dealing with tooling issues and delivery, when necessary.Literature / stationery, Website & Exhibitions (when required):-* Designing company literature / stationery.* Working with marketing on the different aspects of the company website.* Involvement in the design / structure / content & setting-up of exhibition stands.* Liaising with photographers and printers on the above as required.* Designing, printing & laminating signs for various areas of the business.* Representing the company at exhibition stands when necessary. SKILLS & ABILITIESExperience of CAD, (ideally Kasemake) Photoshop and Illustrator are essential, with knowledge of Flexographic and Lithographic Printing procedures being advantageous.
