Energy Group: Solar Scholars • Dedication of Clifford L. Jones Solar Scholars Pavilion in September
Energy Group: Biodiesel • Received $492K grant from the US Department of Energy • Hire of Project Manager Mike Zummo • Received $10K seed grant from Keystone Innovation Zone for work in ethanol recovery
Energy Group: Biodiesel • Represented Messiah College & the Collaboratory at the Pennsylvania State Farm Show in January
MED Group The Collaboratory & Dr. David Hagenbuch partnered with Harrisburg entrepreneur Henry Edwards to study how a grocery business can be sustained in communities where annual household income is below $35K.
Communications Group: WERC The Collaboratory & partners SymBionyx & the Capital Area Intermediate Unit (CAIU) received funding of $45k (to CAIU) to further develop technology that assists persons with autism in school or at work.

Trips this summer • Zambia & BIC Church • Completion of Paper-Making & Tie Dye project, & the initiation of a Village Savings & Loan project • Honduras & CURE • Installation of water purification systems & continued education on the importance of clean drinking water, as well as business planning • Mali & World Vision • Completion of 3-year Mali Water & Disabilities Study (funded by the Hilton Foundation), • Zambia & World Vision • Implementation of mobile technology in areas affected by HIV/AIDS
