Legislative ChangesAct 451 of 1976 – 380.1249 (Revised School Code) • Classroom Observation must include: • Review of Lesson Plan • Identification of Content Standard • Review of Student Engagement • FAPS • Lesson plans are Unit Plans with identified Learning Targets and Agenda • Three classroom observations • Minimum length of ten minutes each

Student Growth (25%) • Student Growth measured by national, state, or local assessment • Two required growth measurements: • MEAP Scores (Math, Writing, Reading, Science, Soc. St. –up or down) • Shrinkage of achievement gap between top 30% and lowest 30% of your students • One growth measurement will be selected by the teacher • Fenton Dashboard includes options for measuring growth
Goals for 2013-14 • Teachers must develop three goals • Use same form as last year • At least one goal must support building School Improvement plan and Student Achievement • Goals submitted to administrators

5 Dimensions+ Rubric • 6 Dimensions • 37 indicators of teacher performance • 4 performance levels • Unsatisfactory 0 points • Basic 1 point • Proficient 2 points • Distinguished 3 points • 111 total possible points to be earned (37 indicators X 3 pts each) equaling 75% of overall teacher evaluation
Student Growth • 3 Measures of Student Growth • 12 points possible to be earned for each measure • 36 total possible points to be earned, equaling 25% of overall teacher evaluation • 1 point possible for turning in your goals
Required Growth Measure #1 (One third of 25%) • Improving MEAP Scores • Teachers responsible for students improved MEAP scores in content areas they most likely impact. • Depending on your teaching assignment, earn evaluation points based on MEAP improvement from Fall 2012 to Fall 2013. • SE teachers will be included in the core department in which they teach.

Next Steps… • Continue to assess yourself on each of the 5D+ performance indicators • Use rubrics during peer observations, schedule, attend your peer observations • Be working with your Bottom 30% to show growth and evidence
