  3. Frederick County Public Schools • 20 schools • 3 High Schools • 4 Middle schools • 11 Elementary Schools • 2 Alternative Schools • Approx. 13200 students

  4. Audrain County, Missouri • Land Mass - 697 square miles • Population - 25,661 • 37 people per square mile • 15.6% of kids experience food insecurity • Of that 15.6% - 31% of those kids are likely ineligible for federal nutrition program

  5. Audrain County Public Schools • 3 Public School Districts (Mexico, Van-Far, Community R-6) • 12 schools • 5 High Schools • 1 Middle school • 5 Elementary Schools • 1 Alternative School • Approx. 3,200 students (Mexico 2,300, VF 600, Community 300)

Partnership from a Chamber Perspective • Community Awareness • Everyone now understands that our community is only as healthy as our schools are. • The students that are under resourced or lacking parental guidance are the ones most likely to remain in the community. • That there is potential for every business, every employer to bring something to the table. • Workforce Development • New ventures such as our Business/Industry Tours and connection to our manufacturers/employer's in the county • Our economic growth depends on a stronger workforce, yet students graduating and entering workforce are lacking in soft skills and work ethic.

  13. Chick-fil-A Pleasant Valley Road and Rutherford Crossing Partnership with BF. • Owner/Operator Board Member • Help with community events such as food drives, blanket drives, career fairs, and employee volunteering • Chick-fil-A Golf Classic 2015, 2016, and 2017 – raised $25,000.00

  14. Chick-fil-A Benefit • By partnering with BF we are able to make lasting connections with school officials, teachers, and students. • By volunteering their time, our team members are able to have a direct impact with the youth in our community.

BF Mexico Partners • Every school in the Mexico District has a faith based partner • Every school in the Mexico District has a business partner • The County of Audrain • The City of Mexico • KWWR and The Mexico Ledger • Business Partners large and small have provided funds for AP classes, tuition for cosmetology school, luggage for student trips, dress uniforms for ROTC, Senior Pictures to name a few.

  27. McMillan Elementary School McMillan’s Faith Based Partner is the Mexico United Methodist Church. The pastor and members of the church have work closely with the school to assist with many projects. Their amazing support and spirit up lift our school. They donate their time, energy and resources to make a difference in the lives of the students and faculty at McMillan. l.

  28. They have: • Paired with the First Christian Church to provide a blanket for every student at McMillan. • Provided funds to purchase clothes for the CARE Closet at McMillan. • Provided a “Welcome Back Luncheon” for faculty and staff in August. • Provide a monthly word of encouragement and treat in the faculty and staff mailboxes. • Donated items for Santa’s Workshop. • Volunteers have helped at Santa’s Workshop, Tyrone Lue Day of Service, Popsicle Friday & Book Gotcha Days. • Provide popsicles once a month for a grade level at Popsicle Friday. • Provided a hand sanitizer for each classroom and public areas of the school.
