  1. What Do You Mean By IP Address?

  2. TCT/IP is the concept of internetworking have developed together, each the cause of growth of the other. • It operates like a single network connecting many computers of any size and type. • DNS (Domain Name System):The DNS is used to convert the domain name into the IP addresses.

  3. To identify an entity, a domain name is used in the internet. • It is an organizational level within the internet. • A Domain name is your own personal internet address with your own domain name your project a corporate identify that is solely your and not advertising your internet Services Provider (ISP).

  4. IP protocol uses the IP address which uniquely identifies the connection of a host to the internet. • Domain may be connected together to create a unique identifier for a domain name always proceed left to right, from most specific to most general. • The Domain name is divided into three sections.

  5. Generic Domain • Country/Geographic Domain • Inverse Domain • Generic Domain: The generic domain defines registered host according to their generic behavior. • The code indicates type of organization to which domain belongs.

  6. In this way you can see at a glance the type of the system to which network belongs. • This code is consisting of three characters.   7. The few common geographic domains are: • Country/Geographic domain: In case of outside the United State, a code is included that indicates to which country it belongs. • This code is consisting of two characters which represent international codes.

  9. It is used to map an address to a name. • This may happen for example when a server has received a request from a client to do a task. • Whereas the server has a file that contains a list of authorized clients, the server lists only the IP address of the clients.
