PLAYING CATCH • Be focused and have a purpose • Hit Partner in the chest every time • Athletic Receiver – catch ball in middle of body every time • Infield is all throwing and catching
PRE-PITCH • Positioning – know the situation • Athletic Position – Timing with hitter • Prep Step, Balls of Feet, Locked In
FIELDING POSITION • Must Be Athletic – Feet Spread, Knees Bent, Flat Back, Balanced • Field the Ball Between Feet – Weight out Front • Get Hands Out Early
APPROACH • Attack the Ball (On the Clock) • Glove Side Eye – Be efficient with steps • Keep Good Rhythm • Step Right, Spread Left • Don’t get set Late
FIELD AND THROW • Positive Wrist Action Through the Ball • Feet Keep Moving – Lead the Rest of the Body • Straight Line to Target – Be Efficient • Inside Step • Follow Throws
