Comments, conclusions: • F<-<-X, HCl: • main ion mass formed is HCl+ (see fig.s 4 and 5) • Cl+ ion mass is only observed for resonance excitation to J´=8 (see fig.4) • Slight H+ is formed for excitations to all J´ levels • Significantly larger H+ mass formation occurs for J´= 8 than for other J´levels • V<-<-X, HCl: • Main ion masses formed are H+ and Cl+, HCl+ is formed to less extend. • Relative ion intensities do not change significantly with wavenumbers • within the same rotational line (see table 7) • What is needed to do: • Determine I(H+)/I(Cl+) for V<-<-X as a function of laser power. • Determine I(H+)/I(Cl+) for F<-<-X as a function of laser power. • Determine I(H+)/I(HCl+) for V<-<-X as a function of laser power. • Determine I(Cl+)/I(Cl+) for V<-<-X as a function of laser power.
