TEIN2 Report - CN 20070515
TEIN2/ORIENT • Orient is a project linking academic networks in China and Europe • Aim is to provide a dedicated high-bandwidth link for the many projects involving collaboration between European and Chinese institutions • Now achieved at2.5Gbps (STM-16c link between Beijing and Copenhagen) • Access is currently 1Gbps to China and 622Mbps to the TEIN2 partners
User support of TEIN2/ORIENT • Help the Sino-European research collaboration to make better use of TEIN2/ORIENT circuit: • For CERNET users: • Have assigned dedicated IP address and bandwidth to some Sino-European collaboration projects (e.g. EUChiaGrid) for the better performance while using this circuit • Application form can be download from web • For the institutions not connect to TEIN2 • Work with them to find a better manner to use this circuit • A typical example is IHEP (Institute of High Energy Physics) • IHEP is now using the grid tool to do some performance tests
FP7 • Help to support the promotion meetings • Video conference • Try to be part of the project • Measurement services • Next generation Internet architecture
