Links with other Esprit Projects • Esprit Project EP: 26924 - SYRIOS “Small Ship-Repair Yard Related Integrated Operation Systems”; a project basically dealing with the needs and requirements of shipyards. • Agreement for exchange of the public reports of the two projects. • Esprit Project EP: 20903 - RIDER “Real Time Decision Making in Manufacturing”, a project dealing with the application of Software Agents to the Manufacturing Environment.

Links with other Esprit Projects (cont.) • A contact was established to one of the former members of Esprit Project EDIMAR, concerning the use of EDIFACT messages in the maritime domain. • EDIFACT-message types for marine industry: • STEP product modeling • Integrated EDI, STEP-EDIFACT processors, and workflow system and application. • Esprit Project EP: 22390 - Seasprite “Software Architecture for Ship Product Data and Integration Exchange” a project dealing with STEP implementation in the Shiop product model

Links with other Esprit Projects (cont.) • Esprit MARIS Project EP: 24487 MARINFO “Maritime Industry Information Infrastructure”. • Develop the infrastructure for accessing scientific and technical data in shipbuilding. • Esprit INCO Project EP: 97496 MARIFLOW “A Workflow Management System for the Maritime Industry”, a project dealing with the automation of data flow for material approval and certification

  6. Links with other Esprit Projects (cont.) • ESPRIT project EP: 27028 - ECLIP “Electronic Commerce Legal Issues Platform”. IRI is a member of this project and will be one of the partners in a follow-up project called ECLIP II starting in Jan.2000. Contacts are to be established with ECLIP II • “Information management - Efficient Docking”; a user led Norwegian research and development program. • Project period: 1998 - 2000 • Scheduled Meeting with MARINTEK by the end of October.

Other Major Links and Contacts • The co-operation and interest in MARVIN, from the insurance company “Storebrand SkadeforsikringAS” of Oslo, which offers hull insurance. • Information used for the preparation of the description of the processes regarding the hull insurance company in the emergency repair scenario was provided.
