  3. The Holiness of God • Holiness is probably the most prominent attribute of God that is mentioned in scripture. • Mentioned over 600 times • ”For thus says the high and exalted One Who lives forever, whose name is Holy” (Isaiah 57:15)

The Holiness of God • The only attribute raised to the third degree • “Holy, Holy, Holy” • “And the four living creatures, each one of them having six wings, are full of eyes around and within; and day and night they do not cease to say, "HOLY, HOLY, HOLYisTHELORDGOD, THE ALMIGHTY, WHOWAS AND WHO IS AND WHOIS TO COME.’” (Rev 4:8)

The scary verse on Holiness • “Pursue peace with all people, and holiness, without which no one will see the Lord” -Heb 12:14 (NKJV) • Holiness is the standard we must meet to make it to Heaven • This is not possible! • Our sin makes us unholy! • NO ONE is “holy” enough to enter heaven on their own.

The Cross • “And you, who once were alienated and enemies in your mind by wicked works, yet now He has reconciled 22 in the body of His flesh through death, to present you holy, and blameless, and above reproach in His sight -- 23 if indeed you continue in the faith, grounded and steadfast, and are not moved away from the hope of the gospel which you heard” -Col 1:21-23 (NKJV)
