This presentation outlines the objectives and contributions of the African Development Fund (ADF) towards a health sector programme aimed at reducing maternal and newborn morbidity and mortality rates. With a total funding pool of USD 128 million, the ADF supports various components including human resources, medical supplies, equipment, and facility development. Key challenges faced include weak supervision and coordination among stakeholders. Recommendations for improvement emphasize enhanced oversight, better coordination, and timely reporting of audit findings to ensure effective programme implementation.
