  4. IDENTITY My favorite types of man :- • Lion Man • Spider Man • Hyena Man • Chameleon Man • Cheetah Man • Crocodile Man

  5. IDENTITY • Lee Harvey Oswald • What defines a man’s esteem? • Whom did your father name you? • Did you grow up in home with a father figure? • The five qualities that men look for in a woman:- • His Mother • His Sister • His Girlfriend • His Wife • A Prostitute • If you want to see how a man will treat you, look how he relates to his mother.

  6. IDENTITY • What do you like about being male? • Name three men who have strongly influenced your life? What have you learnt from each? • What are the challenges of being a man? Being a father? Being a brother? Being a husband? Being a son? Being a boy friend? • How do you think you make the women in you life feel? Your mother? Your sisters? Your daughters? Your girlfriend? • Do you positively encourage and inspire the other men in your life? Your brothers? Your sons? Your father? • Most of us are losing in the game of life because we’re looking for dad’s in the standz of life………..

  7. IDENTITY In the state of Johannesburg, as in most urban areas, two thirds of the Black children born are born to unwed mothers. Most of those boys will grow up to be unproductive men in our society. For irrefutable proof one only needs to examine:- • The high school drop out rate amongst boys from single-family homes, • The incarceration statistics for boys raised by single moms, • The mass number of single mothers who have trained their boys to devalue and disrespect the entire female gender

  8. IDENTITY WHAT’S YOUR NAME? • There are three things that affect a man’s self-concept: significant people in his life whose actions impacted him negatively or positively, critical choices that he made and defining moments. I believe that everybody has to be aimed into his or her destiny. The Bible says that children are like arrows in a quiver. The tragedy with most of us is that we’ve never had anybody to aim us into our destiny. • Everyone that’s ever lived, including you holding this book right now has a list of significant people in their life. There ought to be somebody in our lives that should aim us into our destiny. Significant people are those that have a lot to do with the condition of your self-concept. They made or broke your self-concept. These are the people who’ve written on your personal slate They have played a unique role in creating the person that you are today. I had the privilege of interacting with a grown man in his early fifties, and he told me of how he grew up. And it goes something like this.

  9. IDENTITY BECAUSE SOMEBODY DROPPED ME! • …[Mephibosheth] was five years old when the tidings came of Saul and Jonathan out of Jezreel, and his nurse took him up, and fled: and it came to pass, as she made haste to flee, that he fell, and became lame. And his name was Mephibosheth. • 2Samuel 4:4

  10. IDENTITY • The story of Mephibosheth is the story of a deposed and lame prince, from a house of fallen kings, who lived in a place called Lo-debar, which when is translated from the Hebrew means, “place of no communication”. • He was only five years old when he was banished and separated from his father. He was the son of Jonathan, Saul’s son. He was a prince, by all rights. And isn’t it funny that when men are overwhelmed by things they can’t conquer they land up in a place called Lo-debar.

  11. IDENTITY • Solitary confinement is where most men end up living when life makes them lame, like Mephibosheth. One event in his life had robbed him of his rightful success and imprisoned him in a dungeon of regret and low self-esteem. Isn’t it funny that when one area in a man’s life doesn’t function it affects his whole life?

  12. IDENTITY • Don’t let your condition rob you of your position!!! • He prepares a table in the presence of my enemies. • God’s got a table for you!!! • Jim Barker’s testimony.

  13. IDENTITY • It’s healing time! Its time to let go & let flow. The pain The bitterness The guilt The anger The hate Let it go!!! Let it go!!! Let it go!!! Hey ho devil, you’ve got to go!
