  4. Is Cloud Computing Relevant To Mobile VAS? According to CISCO: Global mobile data traffic grew by 133 percent in 2011 and it is estimated to grow by 110 percent in 2012. By the end of 2012, the number of mobile-connected devices will exceed the number of people on earth. By 2016, mobile handsets (smartphones and non-smartphones) will generate over 50% of the mobile data traffic. By 2016, mobile video will represent over 70% of the mobile data traffic. Cloud applications and services such as Netflix and YouTube allow mobile devices to overcome their inherent memory capacity and processing power limitations. By 2016, cloud applications will account for 71 percent of the totalmobile data traffic.
