This presentation analyzes the effects of health care reform on uninsured American Indians and Alaska Natives in Kansas. Utilizing new data from the 2008–2010 American Community Survey, we assess insurance rates and income distribution for these populations. Key findings indicate that 54% have private insurance, 23% are uninsured, with IHS coverage at 18%, Medicare at 9%, and Medicaid at 24%. This data underscores the ongoing challenges in accessing health services, particularly in light of the Affordable Care Act.
