Excellent Support Point • Charlie is at a bar and a waiter dropped all the plates. Charlie is frustrated that everyone is making fun of the poor waiter. “I jumped up and shouted, ‘Shut up! Leave him alone. It’s not his fault he can’t understand….he’s still human.’” (p. 65) This proves that he has a kind and understanding nature because he was the only one to stand up for the man. Excellent Support Point • Soon after Charlie’s surgery, he beats Algernon in the race. He feels bad so “I said can I feed him because I felt bad to beat him and I wanted to be nice and make frends” (p. 53). Charlie understands how bad it feels to be beaten and feels bad for Algernon. Excellent Support Point • Charlie also thinks highly of Miss Kinnian. When he learns that he may not see her, he became upset. He wrote, “The thought of leaving her behind made me sad.
