  2. Radio Direction Finding ( RDF ) can be used to determine your location when driving, flying or boating. RDF is also used to locate sources of interference to any type of radio service. Amateur Radio enthusiasts call RDF “Fox Hunting”. No matter what you call it, Radio Direction Finding is an art and a skill that use specialized tools .The use of a pneumatic or “Air Mast” is one of the specialized tools that make finding elusive transmitters and sources of interference faster and simpler. HERE IS THE BASIC AIR MAST TOOL KIT • The Mast with adaptor plate • Compressor with regulator, hose and gauges • Pan and Tilt Antenna & Camera • Pan and Tilt Controller • Mast base shoe with wing nuts • Stabilizer bars • Mast safety rope • Custom made Tennis Ball

  4. Let’s have a closer look at some of the components: • Air hose and bleed valve • Base shoe / hitch assembly • Wing nuts • Luggage rail custom milled “T” inserts • The PTZ and camera • The Tennis ball

  5. Now let’s look at the assembly procedure: • Install base shoe and insert hitch safety pin • Place mast on shoe • Install locking wing nuts • Install “V” bracing to mast • Secure “V” braces to luggage rail fixtures

  6. Let’s keep going. We are almost done: • Remove the Tennis ball • Install the top plate and safety pin • Attach the pull rope and square up the mat • Place the PTZ on the plate • Plug in the air hose and bleeder assembly • Admire your work
