After world war 1 Japan became less aggressive. It helped them form the League of Nations in 1902. In the 1030s, the extreme economic depression launched Civilian rule and caused Japan to move toward a policy of militarism. Japanese military began to become more powerful and to play more active role in politics. How did WWI affect Japan?
The military leaders set up a military dictatorship in Japan. • Japan did not have a single strong leader. Instead, a small group of military leaders dominated the government in the 1930s. • Japans had many feature of totalitarianism state which means that the government has a total control over its citizens. • Japans sought to expand its living space and started to take over other territories, as a result Japan left the league of nation. What Conditions led to the collapse of the old government ?
