Please bring money for the MetroLeave from ATM outside of Stamp @ 3:55 pm Dress Code: Wear long pants (no pajama pants, no spandex pants, please) Closed-toed shoes Shirts with sleeves (short sleeves are okay, tank tops are not) A hat or other head covering (hairnets are provided) Midriff shirts are not allowed Volunteer activities include chopping, sorting and vacuum-sealing fresh produce that we get from local farms; mixing salads; portioning meals; de-boning meat; baking healthy snacks; and sorting cans. http://combatinghunger.org/volunteer/Register/index.php

Bake Sale Fundraiser • Counts as 1 hour for on campus service: • Bring individually wrapped baked goods (enough to serve at least 10) • Sign up for 1 hour block to help sell baked goods. • When: • November 7th from 10am-2pm • Where: • Outside STAMP (near the Capitol One ATM) Community Service Events

  9. Drug of the Week Tumor necrosis factor (TNF) inhibitors

  10. Tumor necrosis factors (TNF) are a family of cytokines that are secreted during the immune response. • Specifically, TNF-α is a potent pyrogen involved in systemic inflammatory response produced by activated macrophages. Tumor necrosis factors

  11. TNF can cause many of clinical problems associated with autoimmune disorders such as rheumatoid arthritis, ankylosingspondylitis, Crohn’s disease, and refractory asthma. • The mode of action of TNF inhibition is accomplished via the blockage of Tumor necrosis factor from binding to its receptor, eliminating abnormal B cell activity.
