Heavenly Hummus. Ingredients: 425g can chick peas, 1 clove garlic, 4 x 15ml spoons olive oil, juice of a lemon, 4 x 15ml spoons tahini, salt and paprika. 1. Drain the chick peas through a sieve over a mixing bowl. Save the liquid for later.

  1. Heavenly Hummus

  2. Ingredients: 425g can chick peas, 1 clove garlic, 4 x 15ml spoons olive oil, juice of a lemon, 4 x 15ml spoons tahini, salt and paprika.

  3. 1. Drain the chick peas through a sieve over a mixing bowl. Save the liquid for later.

  4. 2. Blend the chick peas in a processor or blender until smooth.

  5. 3. Add 4 x 15ml spoons of tahini.

  6. Add 4 x 15ml spoons of olive oil.

  7. 5. Add the juice of a lemon.

  8. 6. Add a crushed clove of garlic.

  9. 7. Add salt.

  10. 8. Add approx. 1 x 5ml spoon of paprika.

  11. 9. At this point, add some of the liquid from the canned chick peas and blend to give a light, soft consistency, but with some texture.

  12. 10. Spoon into a dish and serve chilled as a dip with pitta strips, bread sticks or tortilla chips, or use as a sandwich filling.
