  2. Overview • File has logical time-sequenced tracks • Media Tracks contain video, audio etc. • Hint tracks contain packetization hints • File may also contain decl. Info (e.g. SDP for DESCRIBE) • Darwin open-source streaming server (RTSP/RTP from QuickTime)

  3. Hint tracks • Protocol-specific • Authoring tools are media-aware, protocol-unaware • Media typically included by reference • RTP Hint track packet builder: • RTP header info • Immediate data (payload header) • Media pointer (payload data) into media track
