  2. Thursday 11/1/12 • Homework: Measuring up lesson 7 • Bell work: Pick up homework and start working on it. • Hand in completed homework.

  3. Red Class • 1’s – stay in seat to work on independent reading • 2’s – drawing only • 3’s – notes (you will skip the drawing)

  4. Gold Class • If you completed the notes portion Friday – you will stay in your seat and work on independent reading. • Everyone else – we will review the ppt from Friday together and you will record notes.

  5. Nucleus • Control center, contains DNA (genetic instructions)

  6. Cell Wall • Provides support and structure

  7. Cell membrane • Controls what goes in and out of cell

  8. Chloroplast • Site of photosynthesis, creates food / sugar for plant

  9. Cytoplasm • Gel like substance that fills the cell • Allows materials to be moved around

  10. Mitochondria • Creates energy through cellular respiration

  11. Vacuole • Storage area for food, water,waste
