  3. 1. Landslide: mass of rock or soil moving downhill fast. • Usually dry • Talus: the debris at the base of a slope. 4 Types of Mass Movement

  4. 2. Mudflow: the movement of rock or soil saturated with water moving downhill quickly. • Can be as much as 60% water.

  5. 3. Slump: mass of rock or soil slips down a slope. • Material moves in one large mass

  6. 4. Creep: mass of rock or soil moving downhill very slowly. • You can’t see creep happen, only evidence of it.
