  5. How the System Works • Accusation • Investigative Panel • Trial

  6. Accusation • Anyone may accuse • Case in investigated by two honor counsel

  7. Investigative Panel • Three Honor Committee members • Findings are presented • Decision to formally accuse • More likely than not

  8. Criteria • Act • Intent • Seriousness

  9. Trial • Jury of peers, committee, mixed (peers + committee) • Chaired by a Committee member • 4/5 criteria for act and intent • Simple majority for seriousness

  10. Appeal • New Evidence • Denial of Implicit and/or Explicit rights of the Constitution and By-Laws

  11. The Single Sanction... • Student is asked to leave and may not return • Assistance from the Office of Student Affairs

  12. ...Conscientious Retraction... • Honor Offense is committed • Student admits to it before any suspicion of discovery • Consequences are accepted • Full and Complete Defense
