Global Youth Network (GYN) • So what’s next? • >> 18 months plan • - Phase 1:Month 1-3 Recruitment of GYN members followed up by a Regional meeting in Jakarta and Capacity Building Training I. • - Phase 2:Month 4-15 Prevention Project Implementation and Capacity Building Training II. • - Phase 3: Month 16-18 Finalization of project reports followed by an Evaluation Meeting in Jakarta.

  6. Phase 1: Recruitment & Capacity Building Training I. 1. Recruitment of 20 NGOs • Criteria: >> YOUTH centric. >> Focusing on drug prevention programme/s. >> Track record (past/present programmes, clear organization status, references from various sources, annual report if applicable, awards, etc,.). >> Capacity to network. >> Communication: Internet and English speaking >> Deadline for submission: 12 October 2004. • Selection: >> Max 2 NGOs per country. >> If certain NGO do not respond after being selected, a second choice would be contacted.

  7. Phase 1: Recruitment and capacity building training I. • Regional Meeting in Jakarta by end of OCTOBER 2004: >> Introductory meeting & Commitment. >> Capacity-building training I: Proposal writing, Budgeting, Project implementation, Research and Development, Media Campaign, Evaluation and Report writing, Project Sustainability. >> Brain Stormingfor a 12-month prevention project/s from each country.

  8. Phase 2: Project Implementation • Implementation of the 12-month- Action Plan. • Youth oriented prevention programmes. • Monthly report to the Coordinator • Coordinator provides monthly e-newsletter to all members to share methods and better solving problems. • Capacity building training II.

  9. Final phase: Report and Regional Meeting II. • 2nd regional meeting in Jakarta • Report and presentation from each NGO • Evaluation and Assessment • Effective Prevention Methods • Stronger and wider networks • Closing
