ICSD 2010-2013 SWD Improvement Plan Draft 6/7/11 Vision: students with disabilities • We create and sustain an inclusive educational community where each child is empowered to learn, achieve and realize his or her potential. We embrace and respect the diversity of all students, have high expectations of all students, maximize opportunities for students to participate in all aspects of the school and greater community, and maintain a safe learning environment.

  2. Priority strategies • Develop and implement a strategic plan to achieve full inclusion. • Implement effective differentiated instruction PK - 12. • Establish trained and collaborative co-teaching teams PK – 12. • Increase the capacity of staff to understand students' behaviors and to promote positive behavior of SWDs. • Eliminate high school barriers to graduation for SWD. • Implement consistent and targeted evidence-based literacy instruction for all SWDs PK - 12. • Additional strategies • Improve SWD attendance rates. • Improve staff capacity to collect and analyze data, analyze program effectiveness, develop data-driven interventions and monitor student progress. • Ensure high quality education support professionals. • Plan to implement the Certificate of Attained Skills and Experience (CASE), including itsimpact on GED. • Increase the declassification rate.
