EECBG • Energy Efficiency and Conservation • Block Grant • Formula Grant • Purpose: • Reduce fossil fuel emissions in a matter that is environmentally sustainable, to the maximum extent practicable, and maximizes benefits to local and regional communities • Reduces total energy use • Improves energy efficiency in the building, transportation and other appropriate sectors

Eligible Activities • Development of an Energy Efficiency and Conservation Strategy • Technical Consultant Services • Residential and Commercial Building Energy Audits • Financial Incentive programs • Energy Efficiency Retrofits • Energy Efficiency and Conservation Programs for Buildings and Facilities • Development and Implementation of Transportation Programs

Eligible Activities (Continued) • Building Codes and Inspections • Energy Distribution • Material Conservation Programs • Reduction and Capture of Methane and Greenhouse Gases • Traffic Signals and Street Lighting • Renewable Energy Technologies on Government Buildings • Any Other Appropriate Activity

Navajo Nation Allocation • Formula Amount is $6,079,400 • Process: Work Group was organized as a part of the ARRA Core Group. • Participating Organizations: • Dine Power Authority • Division of Natural Resources • Division of Community Services • Division of Social Services • Navajo Housing Authority • Navajo Nation Telecommunications & Utilities • Navajo Tribal Utility Authority

Navajo Nation EECBG Application • Energy Efficiency Design for LEED Building (NTUA Headquarters Building: $2,000,000) • Energy Efficiency Design for LEED Building (NTUA District Office Building: $500,000) • Off-Grid Energy Star Refrigeration Program (NTUA PV Program: $750,000) • Energy Audits and Equipment for Enterprise Buildings (NTUA/NNTU: $475,000) • Renewable Energy for Government Buildings (NTUA, Shonto Chapter: $283,115)

Navajo Nation EECBG Application • Energy Audits and Equipment for Government Buildings (NNTU, DSS: $1,071,285) • Energy Conservation Promotion Activities (NNTU: $100,000) • Terrestrial Sequestration (Greenhouse Gas Capture: $400,000) • Develop Comprehensive Energy Efficiency & Conservation and Renewable Energy Strategy (DNR: $500,000)
