It provides countless lesson opportunities • Footnote. http://footnote.com Footnote allows students to access thousands of primary source documents and photos, and easily create online history reports. • SMILE and CLEAR. http://clear.msu.edu/teaching/online/mimea/smile/ - They’re both from Michigan State University, and allow teachers (and students) to easily create clozes, drag-and-drop exercises, and sequencing activities - it is an example of a mashup – • The term "mashup" refers to the combination of data from one or more web services with customized functionality or data. In the case of CLEAR's mashups, the term refers to the combination of an audio or video clip with a SMILE exercise and additional text. The idea is to combine media elements to create a new resource for language teaching.

It can be used in any number of lessons. • ESL Videohttp://www.eslvideo.com/ - take pretty much any video off-the-net and create a quiz to it • One True Media. http://www.onetruemedia.com/ - It’s a very easy way to create slideshows on the Web, and add text, music and images. • Community Walk. http://www.communitywalk.com/ - Students can put many sites on a map with descriptions and images (which can be easily grabbed off the web). Students can use this to describe field trips, report on historical events, and do other mapping applications

You can use it to create Internet scavenger hunts • Show Beyond. http://www.showbeyond.com/show/home - This is similar to VoiceThread (number three) in allowing audio narration of slideshows, but doesn’t allow audio comments like VoiceThread. You can also add music and text • VoiceThread. http://voicethread.com/ - You can upload pictures and create an audio narrative to go along with them. In addition, audio comments can be left by visitors.
