  1. Triten Range Of Products Fabrication Guide

  2. Cutting

  3. Four Methods Of Cutting • Plasma Arc • Water Jet • Carbon Arc • Abrasive Saw • NOT by oxy-gas

  4. Plasma Arc Cutting • Recommended method. • Material can be cut with hand-held model (inexpensive) • Plates can be cut from either side • Consider plasma arc taper • High definition plasma for greater precision • Angled torch for countersunk holes

  5. Cold Forming

  6. Material can be pressed or rolled with care

  7. Cold Forming • Rolling always in the same direction as the overlay beads. • Convex recommended • Concave with great care • Pressing always with a radiused tool, never with a “knife”

  8. Fixing Holes

  9. Methods of attachment • Material cannot be mechanically drilled or countersunk using traditional methods • Either : • Plug welding • Stud Welding • Countersunk bolts • Pre-machined inserts

  10. Fixing Holes • Direct plasma arc piercing gives a perfectly acceptable hole quality for most applications • A machined insert can be welded in place but is often a more expensive method
