What are the three main types of computer software? • Here are the three main types of computer systems: • System Software • It serves as the main backbone, handling hardware and device communication, and providing a work-suitable environment for the user. The example of this software is operating systems such as Windows, Linux, and macOS • Application Software • Application software is specifically designed for certain tasks or to handle specific tasks. For example, processors, browsers, social media or editing apps. They provide the service directly to the next end user to enhance their productivity, entertainment, or education.

  3. Programming Software • They are primarily designed for coders and developers, offering a platform and tools that facilitate the creation of new apps and systems. For example, compilers, text editors, and integrated development environments (IDEs). This software enables programmers to create apps that we use daily.
