  2. What is the objective of a treatment method? It is to give relief from the trouble and discomfort caused by an ailment. Over centuries, many treatment methods have been evolved, but all of them work for the single purpose mentioned just now. Though they are different, we can classify them broadly into two parts; the first is natural or alternative or traditional medicine, and the second is modern medicine. There is always debate about whether natural medicine is better than modern medicine or vice-a-versa? People have a difference of opinion about it. Let’s compare and analyze them in detail.

  3. The evolution of modern medicine has been on the basis of drug tests performed in safe laboratories. ● 1 . Modern medicine is based on drug tests in laboratories ● The side-effects of each drug are documented after performing experimental research. Hence, doctors know about it in advance while prescribing them to patients. ● In the case of natural medicines, the side- effects are not complex. Also, the medicines are mild, and they are based on natural ingredients. ● There is no documented research as such. Mainly, these medicines evolve by transferring the knowledge from one generation to another. ● In modern medicines, the effects of pills are written on the drug packages or leaflets. In conventional medicines, there are no such side-effects mentioned on the leaflet.

Effect of medicines on chronic conditions ● When people have chronic conditions such as asthma, migraine or diabetes, they have to use medicines to soothe the ailments. ● People have to take medicines into their bodies. When the disease happens multiple times, our body develops resistance to chronic medicines. To correct a chronic condition completely, people go to a holistic doctor • who will treat the ailment and not just symptoms. • Our body has dependent parts on each other. Each system and organ of the body gets affected if the medicine causes some side-effects.

It is because both of them have different physiological characteristics.
