Highlights of IT Research Support Team Accomplishments and Future Challenges

The IT Research Support Team has made significant advancements in technical support for researchers, focusing on high-performance computing (HPC), cluster consulting, and Linux support. Three out of four positions are filled, bolstering our team's capabilities for operational excellence. This year, we've installed three new clusters, upgraded the Academic NIC facility, and launched three user groups. Upcoming challenges include recruiting suitable staff and fine-tuning our mission within resource limitations. Join us in enhancing research through technology!

  11. Dr. Dawes Cluster • 13 Nodes • each node has • 2 - 6 Core Xeon X5680 CPUs • 96GB RAM • 6 - 15,000RPM SATA Drives in RAID 1 for 2.3 TB of high speed scratch space. • Resulting in a total of: • 156 Processor Cores • 1248GB of RAM • 29.9TB of high speed scratch space.
