  3. Stakeholder: Definition The stakeholder in for this product is a Bento box manufacturer based in Virginia. Bento is the Japanese art form of making single serving packed lunches with rice, fish or meat, and vegetables. Usually the food is arranged into recognizable characters for children or other beautiful designs for adults. American’s recently have adapted this tradition using typical healthy American cuisine. A mobile application focused on creating fun and/or beautiful designs with healthy food could boost awareness of their product as well as sales. 1.

  4. Stakeholder: Goals 2. To create a mobile application with a database filled with healthy foods, designs, and instructions on how to create them. The application will contain customizable menu plans, profiles, favorites, and even a shopping list checklist.

User: Demographics Parent’s ages 20-40 with children pre-k through high school Adults who work with children Grandparents Children 10 to 17 Parents ages 20-40 with children pre-k through high school, have children who do not eat healthy or very well and would like to see their children making healthier choices without trying to fight or force them.

  6. User: Personas 1 “Every night I make both of my Sons lunch for school. I was told by my oldest Son’s doctor that he wasn’t growing like he should and needed to eat more. When my children return from school only half of their lunch is gone. Some days they ask about dinner and/or snacks when they come home and some days they don’t. I need a way to make eating healthy fun for them.” “I occasionally watch my grandchildren on the weekends. Every meal I prepare barely gets touched. I need something to get them interested in trying new foods.” Elise is loving grandmother who wishes the best for her grandchildren. Since her daughter works a lot and has little time to introduce new foods to her children, Elise wants to help her grandchildren learn that eating healthy is fun. Rhonda is a single mother who works two jobs to support her two children who are 5 and 7. Like any parent, Rhonda worries about her children’s nutrition and overall health. Age: 30 Occupation: Massage Therapist Family: Single, Two children Household Income: 45,000 Technical Profile: Comfortable with technology. HP laptop, iPhone 4. Internet Use: DIY sites, Social Net., E-mail, News. Age: 68 Occupation: Retired Family: Single, Two Grandchildren Household Income: 30,000 Technical Profile: New to technology. iPad received at Christmas. Internet Use: DIY sites, E-mail, News.

  7. User: Personas 2 “I watch a lot of children during the middle of the day and the Daycare provides healthy lunches for them. A lot of the times the children will cry and complain insisting they do not like what we provide. After many complaints from parents about hungry children I am looking for anything that will help encourage them to eat better while staying with us.” “Lunch at school is alright I guess. Sometimes I eat at school but most of the time my Mom makes my lunch. I love to eat my chips and desert but my sandwich doesn't really taste that good so I skip it.” Jack is a single man who loves children. He works part-time at a Daycare in Richmond, Va. He is also health conscious and in charge of the children’s meals as well as their care from 8am to 4pm. Lena likes to stay healthy with fun activities outside but loves to eat unhealthy food. Arts and crafts and word games on the class iPad are her favorite activities during school. Lunch is her least favorite time. Age: 22 Occupation: Daycare Worker, College Student Family: Single, Two Grandchildren Household Income: 30,000 Technical Profile: Very comfortable with technology. Game Systems, Mac desktop, iPhone 5, iPad. Internet Use: Social networking, Health and fitness, Children’s art crafts, Game forums. Age: 7 Occupation: Student Family: Single Household Income: 65,000, Parents Technical Profile: Comfortable with technology. Uses computers and iPads to aid with learning. Internet Use: Class projects.

I need a way to make eating healthy fun for them.” Rhonda finds the “Divine Food Design” application while searching applications on her phone. The home page prompts her to “Login/Register” or “Take a look around”. She starts exploring the search function and comes across her Son’s favorite cartoon character “SpongeBob Square pants” as a sand which lunch design. She feels excited and confident that he will enjoy this design and his lunch more. Hopefully the doctor will have positive things to say their next visit.

Meeting the Objectives: Description • Database will consist of as many healthy foods as possible (Ex: fruits, vegetables, meats, breads, dairy) • Nutritional value, pictures, and directions for creative ways to prepare foods individually or together as meals will be available. • User can create their own favorites, individual profiles, create notes and rank each food and/or meal preparation design. • A weekly meal planner and grocery list creation. • The search can be utilized by filling in text box or through a drop down menu. • Content, functional specifications and features help the User access meal ideas quickly, organize them easily, and store the information for later use.

  10. Functional Content/Specifications: Home Access first time Profile creation or view main profile. If it is first time visit a popup will appear asking the User if they would like to browse or create a new profile. Favorites access will be possible by swiping a finger to the right in the section where profile, calendar, and favorites reside. Calendar (meal plans, grocery list) can be accessed by swiping a finger to bring the carousel around and clicking on calendar. Top Design News will blink rotate through showing each headline or design. Search box will have data input capability as well as a dropdown menu for popular choices. Settings can be access by tapping with finger.

  11. Functional Content/Specifications: Inner Page 1-Meal Descriptions Image of meal designwill be clickable to enlarge and the User will be able to move the image around. Main text box will include name of meal and design credit, ingredients, text directions how to prepare, estimated preparation time, nutritional value. Add to grocery list ( clickable option). Video link (if available) below main text box. Save to favorites (clickable option).

  12. Functional Content/Specifications: Inner Page 2- Profile Profile picture can be added from library on device or taken at the time of creation. Likes and dislikes can be chosen from drop down menus or input into the categories (foods, colors, cartoons, objects). Likes and dislikes will be linked to search to create a unique and personalized search experience. Ability to create multiple profiles will be available. Switching between profiles can be accessed by swiping the screen in any direction or clicking the alternate profile image on the sidebar on the right. Link to favorites will be clickable and located at the bottom of the page.
