The French-speaking group of FIG, known as GFF, was established in 1998, motivated by cultural and relational interests in response to the adoption of English as the sole working language. As an informal entity, it organizes annual meetings and dinners at FIG working weeks and engages in exchanges among members. The GFF has played a pivotal role in discussions leading to the Task Force on Cultures and Languages. Despite evolving information sources, it aims to maintain an online presence, serving as a valuable resource for professional education in French while advocating for cultural recognition within FIG.
