Varieties cultivated in Europe • Catalogue of varieties cultivated in Europe • Participants agree to built a European catalogue, a catalogue with interest for growers (not a « UPOV » catalogue) • Which criteria: model proposed has to be improved • Clear definition of the different criteria • Send the coordinator, as soon as possible, the way of measurement in the different countries (once the list of criteria has been determined) • Use this description form for the trials varieties • Complete the forms as soon as possible for the different cultivated varieties • A variety may be describe several times if cultivated in different areas

EUROPEAN VARIETIES TRIALS Goals: Avoid repeating the tests of the neighbours By means of results by zone (south Europe / north Europe) Reduce the number of varieties in trials By eliminating the varieties always showing itself badly adapted in the trials of the others
EUROPEAN VARIETIES TRIALS Method: Communicate quickly data At the end of campaign, send as fast as possible its results to the coordinators, to assure the distribution all. Reminder: the seeding is realized in March, thus decision-takings are made in January or February. By using a standard file Standardize the observations Standardize the units of the data
