  3. Week 11: Q & A How important is it for Christians to fellowship with other believers? Genesis 2 18Then the Lord God said, “It is not good that the man should be alone. Hebrews 10 23Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for he who promised is faithful. 24And let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works, 25not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the Day drawing near.

  5. Week 11: Q & A 4. I have a friend who doesn't believe in the Trinity and that Jesus isn't God. How do you think he would respond to Titus 2:13, “The glorious appearing of our great God and Savior, Jesus Christ (NIV)?” It seems to me that Jesus Christ is the "great God and Savior." Also, in I Thess.1:12, "according to the grace of our God and the Lord Jesus Christ" can also be translated "according to the grace of our God and Lord, Jesus Christ," NIV. It looks like the same thing, Jesus Christ is "our God and Lord."

  6. Week 11: Q & A The Old Testament constantly insists that there is only one God, the self-revealed Creator, who must be worshiped and loved exclusively (Deut. 6:4-5; Isa. 44:6– 45:25). The New Testament agrees (Mark 12:29-30; 1 Cor. 8:4; Eph. 4:6; 1 Tim. 2:5) but speaks of three personal agents, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, working together in the manner of a team to bring about salvation (Rom. 8; Eph. 1:3-14; 2 Thess. 2:13-14; 1 Pet. 1:2). The historic formulation of the Trinity (derived from the Latin word trinitas, meaning “threeness”) seeks to circumscribe and safeguard this mystery (not explain it; that is beyond us), and it confronts us with perhaps the most difficult thought that the human mind has ever been asked to handle. Deuteronomy 6 6And these words that I command you today shall be on your heart. 7You shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, and when you walk by the way, and when you lie down, and when you rise.

Consecrate the congregation;assemble the elders; gather the children, even nursing infants. Let the bridegroom leave his room,and the bride her chamber. The Paths of Worldliness We must be careful of the pride of desecrating the Lord’s Day and neglecting worship services. How proud we must be to think that we don’t need to set one day aside to worship the Lord and to receive the kind of spiritual food that will nurture us for the coming week. Ephesians 6 1Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right. 2“Honor your father and mother” (this is the first commandment with a promise), 3“that it may go well with you and that you may live long in the land.” 4 Fathers, do not provoke your children to anger, but bring them up in the discipline and instruction of the Lord.

I have become all things to all people, that by all means I might save some. 23I do it all for the sake of the gospel, that I may share with them in its blessings. Romans 10 14How then will they call on him in whom they have not believed? And how are they to believe in him of whom they have never heard? And how are they to hear without someone preaching? 15And how are they to preach unless they are sent? As it is written, “How beautiful are the feet of those who preach the good news!” 16But they have not all obeyed the gospel. For Isaiah says, “Lord, who has believed what he has heard from us?” 17So faith comes from hearing, and hearing through the word of Christ.

  14. Week 11: Q & A 10. There is a lot of anger in my family, how do I help the situation? Every painful thing we experience in relationships is meant to remind us of our need for God. Abhor what is evil; hold fast to what is good. 10Love one another with brotherly affection. Outdo one another in showing honor. 11Do not be slothful in zeal, be fervent in spirit, serve the Lord. 12Rejoice in hope, be patient in tribulation, be constant in prayer. 13Contribute to the needs of the saints and seek to show hospitality.14Bless those who persecute you; bless and do not curse them. 15Rejoice with those who rejoice, weep with those who weep. 16Live in harmony with one another. Do not be haughty, but associate with the lowly. Never be wise in your own sight. 17Repay no one evil for evil, but give thought to do what is honorable in the sight of all. 18If possible, so far as it depends on you, live peaceably with all. 19Beloved, never avenge yourselves, but leave it to the wrath of God, for it is written, “Vengeance is mine, I will repay, says the Lord.” 20To the contrary, “if your enemy is hungry, feed him; if he is thirsty, give him something to drink; for by so doing you will heap burning coals on his head.” 21Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.
