Academic and Behavioral Expectations of the High School Academic – Students should: • Attend school and instruction consistently. • Be prepared for class; complete class and home assignments. • Be curious - ask questions and participate in class activities. • Attend extra help when necessary. • Think – independently and critically. • Graduate and be College/Work ready. Behavioral/Social – Students should: • As expected, demonstrate consideration and respect for others.

Mount Sinai High School Guidance DepartmentMr. Matthew Dyroff, Director of Guidance The Guidance Department assists with: • Communication between parents and teachers. • Monitoring students’ academic performance. • Course selections. • College applications. • BOCES liaison. • Concerns related to school or otherwise. • Requesting Instructional Team Meetings as necessary. • Serving as a resource for students/parents as necessary.

  8. Scheduling Calendar January: Counselors meet with students to select courses for 2013-2014. February: Course selections entered into system. March: Students’ requests mailed home to parents. April/May: Counselors resolve scheduling conflicts and notify parents of any changes concerning course selections. June: Schedules for 2013-2014 are finalized. August: Schedules are mailed home.
