  1. Sun and other Stars By: Kennedy Howard Presley Wilson Tyra Gilbert

  2. What is the sun? The Sun is the star at the center of the Solar System. It is almost perfectly spherical and consists of hot plasma interwoven with magnetic fields. It is a medium sized star, but not the brightest star.

  3. Solar Eclipse As seen from the Earth,a solareclipseoccurs when the Moonpasses between the Sunand the Earth, and the Moonfully or partially blocks the Sunas viewed from a location on Earth. This can happen only during a NewMoon.

  4. Blue and Red Stars With more than three and up to 150 solar masses a star shines blue - the bigger and hotter the more intensive. These stars burn their fuel much quicker than their smaller fellows and for this are much more luminous. After a few to a few hundred million years they leave the main sequence and, except the most biggest, become red giants or supergiants. Very big ones of these don't expand so strongly when leaving the main sequence, stay blue, but become unstable.

  5. Different sizes of Stars This is a red dwarf. When a star begins to collapses, it forms a red giant. A medium sized star is called a Yellow dwarf. It is about 1.4 million kilometers in diameter. A black dwarf is a dead star. It has used all it’s energy so it doesn’t shine. It’s when a red giant loses its outer and gas into space.

  6. A stars Life Cycle A nebula is an interstellar cloud of dust, hydrogen gas, helium and other ionized gases.gas, dust, and other materials "clump" together and eventually form stars.

  7. Review Quiz 1.What is the Sun made of? 2.True or false: The sun is a red-giant 3.A solar eclipse can only happen during a ________ moon.
