We aim to create sustainable community enterprises that provide ongoing services while ensuring the quality and stability of our agricultural support systems. Definitions - • Linkage – With other development institutions (including government, banks, academic institutions and others) for mobilizing resources for supporting rainfed farming system • Partnership – With development institutions with a perspective long term strategic interest. Should be based on MOU and with longer duration where co – creation is possible • Community Enterprise Development – For development for community enterprises to provide long terms sustainable on going services
Institutional Structure for Leveraging Resources - Services from State
Status of Linkages and Partnerships • Very nascent right now • All CPs managed to mobilize resources from Government • but not significant with respect to scale • Lessons of WASSAN and SPS CP areas needs to be shared with all others to be replicated • Need to create District Level Convergence Forums as in case of WASSAN and Parivartan to be universalized in all CPs
Way forward • Inter-node collaboration; seed, fishery TNs • Design on Institutional aspect on primary , secondary membership/geography, services portfolio, Business rules (Workshop in May) • Research on Institutional model • Data on government department’s allocation of funds
Questions for Nodes and CPs • For every activity undertaken – • How do we ensure quality service to farmers and farming systems? For example – ensure vermi-compost developed is of good quality to impact soil quality. • How do we ensure service model stabilizes through revenue or grant sources? What is the model? • Who will ensure ongoing convergence with government department to enable regular reach of services to all farmers? • How do we sustain services to the farmers in Rainfed Farming Systems?
