  2. Wanaka Mitre 10 purchased 2 waste recycling machines from Miltek and began operations on the 23rd of June 2008. We purchased a XP200 General Waste compactor and a 305 Cardboard Baler.

  3. Since using these machines we have made some considerable savings and found them to be not only cost effective but simple to operate and maintain. Here is a brief overview of the cut backs in costs we have enjoyed since there implementation.

  4. The Chart below shows the considerable drop in wastes costs over the current year. We have reduced our monthly waste bill from around an average of $2500.00p/month to an average of $781.00. Waste Recycling begins

  5. As shown on these diagrams we use to at times need to make bin empties up to 19 times a month cardboard and rubbish combined.

  6. Once in place we immediately reduced the number of bin empties to 1 a week, reducing our empties per month to 4. This together with a bin hire fee and a small extra weight fee is the charge we now incur for our waste disposal. Cardboard skip empties are no longer a factor as we make our own bales and transport them to the refuse dump for recycling free of charge!

  7. Our initial outlay for both waste compactors and bag stands totals $25834.50 So far to date we estimate that we have saved approximately $56700.00 in the nearly 3 years we have recycled. The machines have paid for themselves twice over in this time and we continue to make huge savings in our waste costs. Since implementing our Waste Recycling Program we have also included recycling additional by-products of our business such as plastics, polystyrene, and band strapping which all get recycled on a weekly basis. As well as the large financial benefits we are enjoying we are also very proud environmentally of the contribution we have made to recycling our waste and continue to keep a very “clean and green” approach to our waste!
