  3. Summer Training Overview • # of participants = 34,000 • # of coaches = 700 • Largest training hosted by the Tennessee Department of Education • Common Core training in K-12 Math, K-3 Reading, 4-12 ELA & 6-12 Literacy (Science, Social Studies & CTE)

  4. Core Coach Milestones • Mandatory Trainings (March-May) • Prep Week • Common Core Trainings/Facilitation • Follow-Up Trainings - October 26, 2013 - February 22, 2014

  8. Prep-Week at a Glance Nashville (Monday – Thursday (AM) ) Region OPTIONAL Drive Back to Region (PM) Purpose: Practice facilitating the summer training content

  9. Facilitation Week at a Glance Training Set-up: Visit site; set up room; practice presentation Math Trainings ELA Trainings

  10. Facilitation • Reimbursement policies carry over to the summer • Other tasks: site coordinator (opt-in), site clean-up, review tasks, etc. • TDOE will survey participants weekly • Weekly e-mails from TDOE (trends, expectations, etc.) • Communicate with TDOE staff

  11. Assignments & Placements • Assign co-facilitator and site within your region when possible • Announced by or at prep-week • Information: Site & Co-facilitator (if applicable) by week • Be flexible with your site & placement • Reminder: Fill out your survey
